As one of the biggest nights in the Hong Kong calendar the power players arrived in total style at amfAR’s 2017 Gala at the Shaw Studios on Saturday evening. The event has taken place since 2015 and has become one of the most important events for AIDS’s research in the world. The amfAR Hong Kong Gala celebrates individuals who have made outstanding contributions to HIV/AIDS awareness.
This year leading Hong Kong business woman and philanthropist Pansy Ho was honoured. Charlize Theron was Honorary Chair. Incredible special performances by Charli XCX and CL entertained VIP’s followed by the DJ Set by Mark Ronson. Notable Supporters also included Naomi Campbell, Park Seo Joon, Coco Lee, Jeremy Wong, Michelle Yeoh, Kenneth Cole, Kelly England Prehn and Budi Tek. The black-tie event began with a cocktail reception followed by lavish dinner, live auction, and entertainment.
Previous honourees include actress and amfAR Ambassador Michelle Yeoh and fashion designer and UNAIDS Ambassador Victoria Beckham. Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Adrien Brody, and Michelle Rodriguez are among the bold-faced names who have served as Event Chairs since the Gala’s inception. In just two years, amfAR Gala Hong Kong has raised more than US$7 million in support of the Foundation’s life-saving work.
